How to Trade GLOW — Phantom Wallet + Solana DEX Guide

Install Phantom, fund with SOL, and swap a Solana token like GLOW on Jupiter, Raydium, or Orca.

This page walks you through installing Phantom Wallet (desktop or mobile), securely creating and managing your wallet, funding it with SOL, adding/viewing tokens, and executing swaps on Solana DEXs. Always follow security best practices: never share your seed phrase, verify URLs, and test with a small amount before large trades.

Non-negotiable: Your Secret Recovery Phrase (seed phrase) controls your funds. Write it down offline and never share it with any person or website.

1) Install Phantom Wallet

A. Browser extension (recommended for desktop)

  1. Go to the official Phantom website: phantom.com and click “Download” to choose your browser extension.
  2. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store / Edge Add-ons / Brave.
  3. Click the Phantom icon in your browser toolbar to open it.

B. Mobile app

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and search for “Phantom” developed by Phantom Technologies, Inc.
  2. Install the app and open it.
Important: Only download Phantom from phantom.com or the official store listing. Phishing and look-alike apps are common.

2) Create a New Wallet (Seed Phrase)

  1. Open Phantom and select “Create New Wallet” (or “Create a seed phrase wallet”). Follow the onboarding prompts.
  2. Create a strong local password (used to unlock the extension in that browser) and enable biometric unlock if available on mobile.
  3. Phantom will display a Secret Recovery Phrase (seed phrase). WRITE THIS PHRASE DOWN ON PAPER and store it securely offline. Do not take a photo, type it in cloud notes, or share it.
  4. Confirm the phrase as prompted to finish wallet creation.
Security notes:
  • Phantom will never ask for your seed phrase. If a website or person asks for it, it is a scam.
  • For larger balances, consider a hardware wallet or other stronger custody methods supported by Phantom.

3) Optional: Connect a Hardware Wallet (Ledger)

If you have a Ledger or other supported hardware wallet, connect and use it for high-value storage. With a hardware wallet, each transaction requires a physical confirmation, significantly reducing risk.

4) Fund Your Wallet with SOL

  1. Buy SOL on an exchange (Coinbase, Kraken, Binance) or via an on-ramp.
  2. Withdraw/send SOL to your Phantom address:
    • Open Phantom → Home → Receive → Solana
    • Copy your address and paste it into the exchange “Send/Withdraw” flow
    • Send on the Solana network
  3. Wait for confirmations; your SOL balance will appear in Phantom.
Tip: Send a small test amount first (e.g., $5–$10 of SOL) to confirm the address and network before larger transfers.

5) Add / View a Solana Token in Phantom

A. Receiving tokens

If someone sends you tokens on Solana, they will generally appear automatically in Phantom after confirmation.

B. Manually add a custom token (if it does not appear)

  1. In Phantom, open the wallet and go to “Manage Token List” or “Add / Manage Tokens”.
  2. Paste the token’s mint address (token contract address on Solana) into the Add Token field.
  3. Phantom should populate token details — confirm and add.

6) Choose a DEX or Aggregator

Popular Solana options:

  • Jupiter (aggregator): finds optimal routes across multiple liquidity sources.
  • Raydium (AMM): direct swapping and pools.
  • Orca (AMM): user-friendly swap and pool interface.

Aggregators like Jupiter often provide better pricing by routing across DEXes; native DEX sites (Raydium/Orca) can be useful when you want a specific pool or advanced features.

7) Swap / Trade Tokens (example: using Jupiter)

  1. Open Jupiter: https://jup.ag. Verify the URL and SSL. Click “Connect Wallet” → choose Phantom.
  2. Select the token you will sell (e.g., SOL or USDC) and the token you want to buy (search by symbol or paste the mint address).
  3. Enter the amount to swap.
  4. Review the quoted route, price impact, fees, and minimum received. Adjust slippage tolerance only if necessary.
  5. Click Swap. Phantom will prompt you to approve the transaction and show the estimated network fee. Confirm only if correct.
  6. Wait for confirmation. Verify the new balance in Phantom and optionally check the transaction on a Solana explorer.

8) Swap / Trade on a Native DEX (Raydium / Orca)

  1. Open the DEX and verify domain + SSL:
  2. Click “Connect Wallet” and choose Phantom.
  3. In the Swap tab, select the token you want to sell and the token you want to buy.
  4. Enter amount, review price impact, minimum received, and any LP fees.
  5. Click Swap, confirm in Phantom, and wait for confirmation.
Be mindful: Low-liquidity tokens can have large price impact and slippage. Review Minimum Received and Price Impact before confirming.

9) Post-Trade Checks & Tips

  • Confirm transactions on a Solana explorer (Solscan or Solana Explorer).
  • If a token doesn’t show in Phantom, add it via its mint address in Phantom’s token manager.
  • For larger trades, consider splitting into smaller increments to limit slippage.
  • Revoke approvals / remove permissions for smart contracts you no longer use (Phantom and third-party tools can help).

  • Never share your seed phrase. Phantom will never ask for it.
